In the Trees is Where I Want to Be
My number one favorite place is the backyard at my parents' house in Tulsa. My parents have a really large backyard filled with many trees and soft shade grass. In high school, I used to lay out on a blanket in the backyard and read. Just laying there, listening to the wind rustle the leaves and the birds tweeting is wonderfully peaceful. Now, when I visit them, I always bring my hammock and set it up in between a couple of trees. Even if it is chilly out, you can still find me there with a warm blanket and a book.

Hey fellow Tulsan! Just hearing you describe your backyard makes me miss my own. Even though everyone thinks California or Florida has the best weather, the weather right here in Oklahoma is some of my favorite. It always seems to have a wonderful cheery day at least once a week that just makes you want to jump up and run outside and lay in the grass! I look forward to reading more from you as the semester goes along!
ReplyDeleteYES to trees!!! I feel the same way, Caitlyn, and I am very glad to be living in a rural area, surrounded by trees. They make me happy! Maybe you will want to do a project for this class about tree mythology and legends! Trees in mythology
